The StartUp Britain Summer Bus Tour: A roundup of Week One

Last week I shared my thoughts on the first two days of The StartUp Britain Summer Bus Tour which kick-started in Bristol, Cardiff and Birmingham.

The remainder of the week pulled in an equally diverse range of serial entrepreneurs, growing businesses, fresh start-ups, and even those who just wanted to talk through their business idea.

Wednesday brought the bus to two of the most vibrant and enterprising cities in the UK: Liverpool and Manchester. As with all of the fourteen regions we’re reaching on the StartUp Britain tour, business advisors and professionals were onboard giving invaluable, first-hand advice ranging from everything including social media, to finance, technology, and accountancy.

BBC Radio Merseyside joined us to speak with Duncan Cheatle, co-founder of StartUp Britain and founder of local start up Salad|Bowl, which was recently amongst Barclay's Take One Small Step Winners. Particularly exciting to witness was the mutual exchange of ideas with even the more seasoned entrepreneurs receptive to advice whilst sharing their own business learnings.

Speaking with local Sunderland entrepreneur Rob Dixon, soon to launch mobile application ‘Appicab,’ along with the hundreds of other start-ups that joined the tour, it’s clear that many new businesses are seeking assistance in finding d the right technology to help start and grow their businesses.

Here’s the video of those discussions with entrepreneurs Duncan Cheatle and Rob Dixon:

With an acute understanding of the challenges that start-ups and growing businesses face, Dell therefore makes an ideal sponsor for StartUp Britain. With a dedicated range of solutions to meet SMBs’ requirements, as well as consulting services, customisable support and online leadership service, even the most technophobic customers can find the right products for their needs.

Don’t miss the second leg of our tour which kicks off on Monday 19th September in Brighton.
